Sir Hans Rausing
Hans Rausing (born 15 June 1963) is a British philanthropist and son of Hans Rausing and Märit Rausing. His late father, Professor Hans Rausing KBE, was an industrialist and entrepreneur who from 1950 to 1995 held the roles as CEO and chairman of Tetra Pak, the global food packaging group.
In June 2025, Hans Rausing was honoured with a knighthood in the King’s Birthday Honours List for services to the Arts.
Hans grew up in Sweden and then England, with his two older sisters’ Lisbet and Sigrid. He has dedicated his life to philanthropy and following his marriage to Julia Rausing in 2014 (nee Delves-Broughton), co-founded The Julia and Hans Rausing Trust.
In 2024, the Trust was renamed Julia Rausing Trust to honour the memory of his late wife. Since its formation in 2014, the Trust has donated over £500 million across more than 2000 grants to good causes in the UK and further afield.
The Trust aims to foster a healthy society that gives care to those in need, provides opportunity for all, and offers inspiring cultural engagement.
Hans has four children from his first marriage with Eva Kemeny (m. 1992).
